Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are sharing more details about the frightening emergency fetal surgery their son Rocky underwent before he was born.
The couple opened up about the experience in Barker’s new Hulu documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.
The scare happened when Kardashian was seven months pregnant and doctors discovered that fluid was building up in Rocky’s lungs.
Barker was on tour in Europe at the time when he received the call that suddenly changed his plans.
“I was touring, I was actually in Europe. She says, ‘Trav, I went to my doctor and the baby’s lungs are filling with fluid.’”
He immediately cancelled four shows so he could be by Kardashian’s side.
Doctors treated the condition by draining the fluid with a needle inserted through Kardashian’s stomach.
“It was terrifying going in for the surgery,” Kardashian said. “He canceled four shows, and he just came and laid with me in the hospital and made sure that everything was OK.”
